About Us

The DWG started back in 1987 as an informal group of women getting together and has progressively grown over the years, developed a structure and traditions. By June 2008 we boasted 223 members and gave 9 million in CFA to our charity projects. And these numbers are only rising! We became a lot more visible, inviting for example a Woman Minister to come and speak to us on Women in politics, we visited Parliament and by then decided it might be a good idea for us to follow official channels and file for an Association status.

How is the DWG run?
