This year the Dakar Women’s Group is proud to launch our first challenge fund to support African female entrepreneurs in technology.
Meet our 2017 winner- Alimatou Zadya Diagne.
Alimatou created her self- publishing online platfrom Carvi Writer in 2014. The platform is for writers, poets and people willing to record their memories. Her ambition is to help people grow and share their creativity online.
As the winner of this years challenge Alimatou has received 1.5 million CFA to develop Carvi Writer, along with mentoring for one year by our main partners to help grow its digital presence.
The second prize of one million CFA, financed by the DWG was awarded Corinne Erambert for Les Ateliers de Corinne. A cooking blog, catering service and cooking classes.
The final prize, was presented to Caamo Kane and Rugiyatu Kane for the new Dakar Farmer’s Market collecting 500,000 CFA, given by Defko Africa. The market promotes the local community, bringing together more than 70 exhibitors offering a wide range of food products and quality of natural cosmetics.
